Kabantu in the community


 

The meaning behind Kabantu’s name is “of the people”, taken from the Zulu word “Ubuntu” translating as humanity; “I am what I am because of who we all are”.

When it comes to their work within the community, that translates as a very inclusive approach to bringing music to others, from babies, special needs schools and children’s cancer wards to pre-conservatoire teenagers and the elderly.

The spontaneous, joyous nature of Kabantu’s music, embracing improvisation, arrangement and different cultures, lends itself perfectly to using music to communicate with those without
